Write for us
We welcome thoughtful pitches about gardens and gardening that help readers understand a subject, make a considered choice or see a familiar garden detail differently. Proposals are sent through the Contact page.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the central question, the specific reader takeaway and why the subject suits Spirited Garden Review. A strong proposal has a clear angle, enough scope for a focused article and a voice that explains terms without talking down to readers.
Subjects we welcome
Ideas may explore garden design, plant life, gardening skills, garden history or the pleasures of garden spaces. We value distinct topics grounded in clear explanation, useful comparisons, careful observation or a well-framed account of how a practice or idea developed.
What to include
Use the Contact page to send a short summary, a proposed working title and a few lines about your approach to the subject. Mention any relevant experience or sources you expect to draw on, but do not send a complete manuscript unless requested. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication.
Attention is the gardener’s best tool
A closer look helps explain what a garden needs and what it can become. We favour patient observation over quick fixes.
